The Puerto Rican Literature Project

Although Rafael W. Camejo was born in Venezuela in 1892, he participated in the literary world in Puerto Rico. Camejo was a critic and Romantic poet who authored Cuando florezcan los rosales (1915). Along with another expat, Leoncio Martínez, who also worked and lived in Puerto Rico, they are credited with “awakening” the Modernismo movement.
