Eïrïc Durandal Stormcrow is a poet, storyteller, translator, editor, and visual artist born in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico. In 1995, he began his literary studies in English at the University of Puerto Rico, Humacao Campus, eventually transferring to the Río Piedras Campus, where he started publishing some of his writings in Tonguas Magazine, the English Department’s literary magazine. Later on, he published his first play in the anthology Los otros cuerpos: antología de temática gay, lésbica y queer desde Puerto Rico y su diáspora (Editorial Tiempo Nuevo, 2007), edited by Agosto Rosario and Luis Negrón. He was featured in numerous university magazines, such as Pastiche (UPR Mayagüez), as well as Contornos, Quadrivium, and El sótano 00931. His first poetry collection Bestiario en nomenclatura binomial (Aventis, 2009), was followed by Empiria: Saga de la nueva ciudad (2012), and his memoir Diario de una puta humilde (Erizo Editorial, 2012). His short story, “El suspiro de 100 años,” won the Hispanic Studies Department’s literary contest at UPR Río Piedras. He also received an honorable mention in El Nuevo Día’s contest for his short story “Evola” and was awarded the Premio Nacional del Cuento del Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña in 2013 for his piece Desongberd (2014, ICPR). In 2019, his poetry collection La honra del Jabberwock, was a finalist in the UPR Río Piedras Campus Hispanic Studies Department’s literary contest, which he eventually published as a bilingual edition through his own press Gnomo Editorial.
