The Puerto Rican Literature Project

Abdiel Echevarría-Cabán was born in 1986. He is a poet, lawyer, and the 2008 recipient of an Honorable Mention from the PEN Club of Puerto Rico for his poetry collection Estoicismo profanado (Terranova Editores, 2008). He studied comparative literature at the University of Puerto Rico in 2009 and later earned a master’s degree of law in human rights and social justice from the University of Connecticut in 2019. His works include Peregrino entre sombras (2005), El deseo forastero (2010), El imperio de los pájaros (2011), Mantras (2015), and Los perros sabemos lo que hiere la lluvia (2021). He currently works as an immigration lawyer in Texas and is compiling these experiences and memories into a crónica.
