The poet, teacher, and scholar Naomi Lockwood Barletta was born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. Sheis the author of Sueños y señales (1979), Alrededor de un encuentro (1981) and Luceros (El Paisaje Editorial, 1993). She’s an alumna of Bridgewater University and Northeastern University.  Her piece “Tiempo presente” was published in the anthology Hispanics in the United States: an anthology of creative literature (Bilingual Preview Press, 1980-1982), edited by  Gary D. Keller and Francisco Jiménez.
