The Puerto Rican Literature Project

Juniel Aerial Maldonado is a queer dancer, actor, and writer. They were born in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico in 1998, where they lived until moving to Texas at the age of 14. Maldonado later moved to New York to study film and performing arts at the New York Film Academy, and received their bachelor’s degree in 2023. They’re currently a theater producer and playwright. Their work includes Spoon-Fed (2023).
