The poet and photographer Elihaj I. Milián Santiago was born on July 18, 1996 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. She’s lived in the archipelago’s northern region her whole life. Milián Santiago holds a BA in Tele-radial Communication with an emphasis in Digital Photography from the University of Puerto Rico, Arecibo Campus. Recently, she presented her Master’s thesis in Creative Writing from the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón in Santurce, Puerto Rico. Her significant literary influences include Angelamaría Dávila, José María Lima, and Sor Juana Inés.

Milián Santiago has taken narrative and poetry workshops and classes with Rubis Camacho, Mayra Santos-Febres, and Alexis Díaz Pimienta. She participated in a poetry and narrative workshop that will lead to the creation of a trans and nonbinary anthology published by Editora Educación Emergente (EEE).
