Herminio Miranda González
(He/Him)Herminio Miranda González was born in 1873 in Morovis, Puerto Rico and passed away in 1953 in his hometown. He was a poet, journalist, musician, composer, educator, and politician. He worked as a public school teacher. In 1912, he worked as editor of the newspaper El Buen Sentido. He served in various public offices: Municipal Secretary of Morovis (1902-1914), member of the Chamber of Delegates for the Partido Republicano Puertorriqueño (1912-1914) for Arecibo, secretary of the Morovis school board (1915), member of the Municipal Assembly of Morovis (1918-1920), senator (1921-1924), vice-president of the Senate Committees on Municipal Government and Elections, and a member of the committee on Printed Materials and Registered Laws. Miranda González’s work includes Pancarpia: Poesías (Tip. El Carnaval, 1920).
