The Puerto Rican Literature Project

Dayra Lee Montoyo Leandry is a poet, declamadora, screenwriter, and professor from Luquillo, Puerto Rico. She was awarded second place in the México International Film Festival for the screenplay Los héroes del mundo. She is the founder and director of the Puerto Rico Poetry Slam and the 2023 winner of Chicago’s Slam Diáspora. In 2019, Montoyo Leandry independently published the poetry collection Tengamos texto. Her work can also be found in the anthologies Eufonías de la Ceiba Bruja (Editorial 52hz, 2024) and De las periferias de las fronteras (Abya Yala Poetry Slam, 2024).
