Alejandra Rosa Morales was born in 1994. They are a journalist, performer, and the author of Levadura (La Secta de los Perros, 2022). In 2019 and 2020, they were the winner of the Gabriel García Márquez Scholarship in Cultural Journalism. Their work has been published in the New York Times, Time Magazine, 80grados, and Revista étnica. Rosa has contributed to the anthologies Sanaré (Editorial Étnica, 2022), Ese lugar violento que llamamos normalidad (La Impresora, 2022) and Pa la posteridá: Antología sobre el paso del huracán María por Puerto Rico (Ediciones del Flamboyán, 2018). Currently, they are pursuing a PhD in African and African American studies at Harvard University. Since 2022, they have been a member of the antiracist theater and dance company Danza Orgánica.
