Francisco Morales Eró, also known as Pancho Morales, was born in 1961, in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico. He’s a poet, painter, and composer. He started studying sociology at the Cayey campus of the University of Puerto Rico and completed his studies at the Universidad Interamericana in Cupey. He is the author of Mirándome (self-published, 1989), Soledad de peces (self-published, 1991), El insomnio de las siete puertas (sponsored in part by the ICP’s Fondo Nacional para el Financiamiento del Quehacer Cultural, 1992), Abuelo Pito (self-published, 1994), Poemas del último cuarto (self-published, 1997), and Vida y Canto (self-published, 2015). Morales Eró contributed poems and paintings to the film Esta insistente manía de ser feliz (Producciones Zaranda, 2017), a documentary about schizophrenia and “the stigmas associated with this condition.” Morales Eró lives in San Juan and spends his time writing, painting, and collaborating on family projects. He is also working on his next poetry collection, Navegando sueños, which will include a prologue by Professor Iván Martínez Colón.
