Enrique Olivares Pesante
(He/Him)A poet, labor activist, educator, and musician, Enrique Olivares Pesante was born in 1989 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He completed his primary and secondary studies at an all-boys private school before enrolling in the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, where he obtained a BA and MA in English. In 2019, he published his first bilingual book, Free Terrorism (La Impresora). Currently, Oliveras Pesante is completing a PhD in English literature at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is also building a poetic project entitled Mi amigo fiel, which explores addiction. Olivares Pesante is part of the Puerto Rican Literature Project (PLPR) team.
