Myr Olivares Bonilla
(They/Them)Myr Olivares Bonilla was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1993. They obtained a BA in journalism with a minor concentration in foreign languages at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras campus in 2017. Afterwards, they continued their education in women and gender studies, as well as theater studies at the same institution. In 2016, Olivares Bonilla participated in an exchange program at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milán, Italy. Their work has been published in various anthologies, including Antología Casa Emilio (2014) and Mirar Pa’ Dentro (2020). Their significant literary influences include Julia de Burgos, Oscar Wilde, Edgar Allan Poe, Cristina Peri Rossi, José Saramago, Milan Kundera, Leila Guerriero, Federico García Lorca, Magali García Ramis, and Rita Indiana, among others. Currently, Olivares Bonilla is working on their first poetry collection, entitled Péndulos hacia mí misme.
