The Puerto Rican Literature Project

Ángeles Ortíz was born in 1947 in Orocovis, Puerto Rico. She obtained her BS and MS from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico in Ponce, her PhD from New York University, and completed graduate work at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Ortíz has worked as a consultant and advisor in governmental, private, educational and organizational sectors in the areas of strategic research and marketing studies; process evaluation; outcomes and projects; academic consulting; among others. She has published in newspapers and magazines, such as El Nuevo Día, Better Living, and Caribbean Business. Her works include Después del polvo (Editorial Mairena, 2003), El discurso afectuoso (Editorial Mairena, 1990), Sin Pausas ni reversos (Editorial Mairena, 1980), Amrita Pritam: Poemas (Editorial UI, 1980), and Cromatografía sobre papel (Cooperativa de Artes Gráficas Romualdo Real, 1977).
