Irene Pérez
(She/Her)The educator and writer Irene Pérez was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. She moved to the United States as an adult and obtained her BA in creative writing from Columbia University and an MA in Spanish and Latin American literature from Hunter College. She later went on to complete an MS in childhood education and literacy from Mount Saint Mary College. She has published work in Revista Chicano-Riqueña, The Bilingual Review, El Centro Journal, The Olive Tree Review, and The Acentos Review, among other publications. She is the author of the poetry collection Encounter Between Cuentos and Versos (Floricanto Press, 2014). Currently, Pérez teaches and lives in Trenton, New Jersey.
