Sabrina Ramos Rubén
(She/Her)Sabrina Ramos Rubén was born in 1985 in Cayey, Puerto Rico and was raised between Cayey and Caguas, Puerto Rico. She is the author of the books Mangle rojo (La Secta de los Perros, 2016) and Charco hondo (Ediciones Alayubia, 2018). Ramos Rubén obtained her BA in art history and an MA in translation from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras (UPRRP). From 2014-2016, she worked with the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture as the cultural liaison for the Polygraphic Triennial and later worked with the Art Museum of the UPRRP. Her writing is influenced by poets and writers such as Audre Lorde, Julia de Burgos, Marta Aponte, Olga Nolla, Antonio Corretjer, Rita Indiana, Sylvia Rexach, José María Lima, Roque Dalton, Derek Walcott, Tedi López Mills, and Yasushi Inoue. Currently, she works as an art curator, an independent translator, and has produced translations for El proyecto de la literatura puertorriqueña / The Puerto Rican Literature Project.
