The Puerto Rican Literature Project

Angelía Rivera Barreto was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico in 1991 and raised in Coamo, Puerto Rico. She is the author of the books Posando desnuda (La Impresora, 2017) and Santamaría Atrapasueños (Gnomo Literario, 2022). Rivera Barreto obtained her BA in art theory from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez. Her significant literary influences include Anjelamaría Dávila, Marigloria Palma, Paul Preciado, and Yolanda Arroyo Pizarro. Currently, Rivera Barreto lives in Río Grande, Puerto Rico and is a representative at Banco Popular de Puerto Rico. She spends time on what she refers to as “witch affairs,” including tarot and astrology.
