Yolanda Rivera Castillo
(She/Her)Yolanda Rivera Castillo was born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. She holds a BA from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus, an MA from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and a PhD in Spanish linguistics from the University of California, Davis. She is the author of Emergencia de la luz (Editorial Pulpo, 2022), and her work has been published in the Journal of Pidgin and Creole Languages, Southern Journal of Linguistics, Issues in Phonological Structure, and Clitic, Pronouns and Movement. She has taught at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa, and the University of Houston Downtown Campus. She is an Associate Professor at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. Her main research areas include Creole languages, suprasegmental systems, and the Phonology-Syntax connection.
