Gaddiel Francisco Ruiz Rivera is a poet, educator, mentor, and performer, born in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico. During his early years, he went to public school until he eventually started a BA in Hispanic studies at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez. He went on to complete an MA at University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras. In 2010, he published his first poetry book, Viacrucis de la otredad, with Editora Educación Emergente. He is also the author of Reptura (Editora Educación Emergente, 2015) and Remedios crónicos para enfermedades caseras (La Impresora, 2016). In 2017, Lógica escata was published by Ediciones Aguadulce, where Ruiz Rivera also worked as an editor and representative for the press. In 2018, Internacional Aulladora Anarquista published Un discurso boricua ante las Naciones Unidas, one of three books that form a tryptic alongside texts by the Mexican poet Karloz Atl and the Chilean poet Constansa Vergara. Ruiz Rivera is currently working on two manuscripts. The first is Nunca es azul, and the second manuscript explores the relationship between cats and HIV.
