Stephanie M. Silva Santana, also known as Fani, was born in 1989 in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. Silva Santana obtained her BA in comparative literature and art history from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez. In 2023 the Artist Trust awarded her a Grant for Artist Projects. Her work has been influenced by figures such as Kattia Chico, Claudia Masin, Xavier Valcárcel, Anne Carson, Li-Young Lee y Jaime Sabines. In addition to poetry, Silva Santana practices photography, often interpreting the poetry through this medium. Currently, she lives in Seattle, Washington and works at a bookstore. Her works include Horario (Editorial Gacela del Ático, 2021).
