Zahina Bruno was born in 1984 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. She is a fiction writer and poet, associated with the genre of gothic horror. She obtained a BA in psychology at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras and an MA in creative writing from the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón. Her works, “Poema I” and “Poema II,” were published in Carroña: Antología de zombiliteratura puertorriqueña (Gnomo, 2024). In 2023, she received first prize in the 6th Microliteratura El Post Antillano short story contest. Her literary influences include Alejandra Pizarnik, Horacio Quiroga, Julia de Burgos, Khalil Gibran, Franz Kafka, and Virginia Woolf. She currently resides in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
