Izamaris Hernández was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico in the 1980s. She is a middle school Spanish teacher, and writer. Hernández was an MA student in literary creation and creative writing at the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón, Santurce. Her short stories have been featured in the anthologies No cierres los ojos: Antología de relatos de horror y terror 1 y 2 (Libros Eikon, 2016, 2019). Her work includes Cada media hora (2020), which received a 2021 Honorable Mention from the PEN Club de Puerto Rico Internacional.
