The poet, professor, and essayist Julio Noboa Polanco was born in 1949 and raised in the Bronx, in New York, New York. His family later moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he completed a BA in anthropology from the University of Illinois in 1974. He went on to complete an MA in education at Northwestern University in 1981. Noboa Polanco has published his work in Revista Chicano-Riqueña and Para Las Américas: Unitario Universalismo En La Nueva Era (Unitarios Universalistas de Costa Rica, 2022). Currently, he lives in Costa Rica.
