Francisco Félix Canales Dalmau was born in 1990 in Río Piedras, San Juan, Puerto Rico and raised in Carolina, Puerto Rico. He is the author of Sobre los domingos (2019), Salario Mínimo  (2018), and Norte Invertido (2019), all published by La Impresora, and Esta Isla (Ediciones Alayubia, 2019). Canales Dalmau obtained his BA in sociology with a minor in Hispanic studies. During his studies, he worked as a librarian in the Lázaro Library’s Colección Puertorriqueña. He also acquired an MA in Hispanic studies from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras. After finishing his master’s degree, he was accepted into the doctoral program in Comparative Literature at the University of Connecticut, which he eventually left to return to Puerto Rico, where he tutored and taught classes. His work has been influenced by poets and writers such as Herta Muller, Albert Camus, Fíodor Dostoievsky, Pedro Juan Gutiérrez, and Guillermo Cabrera Infante. Canales Dalmau’s work has been published on FRACAS and low-fi ardentía. Currently, he lives between San Juan and Isabela, and writes with the support of a Letras Boricuas Fellowship from the Flamboyan Foundation.
